VR Social Station – Vic

In January 2024, BeAnotherLab installed the first VR Social Station prototype at El Refugi cultural center in Vic (Catalonia). This is a new installation format in which users can access and experience the embodied narratives contained in the Library of Ourselves archive without the need of having a professional trained in the role of the assistant.

The first prototype is a low-cost installation, designed to be easily replicated in any territory and in a wide range of contexts. The BeAnotherLab team can update content remotely, allowing new narratives to be included as they are created, opening up the possibility of sharing content between different stations spread around the world.

The VR Social Station will be permanently installed throughout 2024 at the El Refugi cultural and creation center in Sentfores-Vic. During this time, BeAnotherLab will test and improve the user experience with a view to replicating the installation in different places in Spain first, and in other countries after.

For the development of this prototype, BeAnotherLab had the support of the AuroraCoop cooperative and of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
